Reco (Age 15)

A young girl who befriends a beetle and heads to the Shinju Forest, looking for the god of the Koujuu. Born to the royal family of Hoshifuri Village, she doesn't quite remember what happened that day she was lost. Very curious, and not always thinking out her actions, she is sometimes a handful for those around her. She loves the candy made from tree sap of which the Koujuu taught her. Is currently enthralled with throwing the fruit of the Circlet trees.

Aki

A young boy who had previously lived in Hoshifuri Village. As the current King of the Koujuu, he has kept them from leaving the village. Quiet, and does things at his own pace. His hobby is going for walks.

Kiniro

A beetle type of Koujuu which typically carries sacrifices. His role was to take Reco to the Koujuu god. Because of the bracelet, he becomes connected to the "sacrifice" and is able to communicate with her to an extent. Is relatively mature and quiet, but has no forgiveness for anything that threatens his life. Gets along especially poorly with stag beetles, often starting fights with them.

Koujuu

A name used for gigantic arthropods who have flourished above ground. Are found in great numbers in areas with trees, but also in such places as deserts. As they die in the vast forests and deserts, leaving behind their shells which allow plantlife to grow, they add to the green of the land. They can fly through the sky, giving off the life energy humans call "Levi-Sense". They can also use the Levi-Sense as a weapon against foreign invaders
