THE
BOSS COUNTER
|
||
Refered Items | ||
Conditions |
The
values of all collected boxes in a stage are added to the number in
the first row. When at the end of the stage the boss appears, this number
starts counting down to zero. The remaining number, once the boss is
finally destroyed, will be calculated as a bonus. |

THE
MULTIPLIER

The
number in the second row, I call the multiplier. It increases in a similar
way like the boss counter, but it depends on which weapon you use to
shoot down the enemies: |

THE
BOX VALUE

The
score system in Ketsui is quite simple. From shooting enemies, you will
receive boxes with numbers from 1-5. The closer you hunt the
enemies down, the bigger and more valuable are these boxes. The
following technique explains how the box value counter works, and how
you can collect as many 5er boxes as possible:
see below ("score calculation") to learn how the box value affects your score. |

you shoot down enemies in the game, the points are calculated as followed:

END
OF STAGE: SCORE PAYOFF
|
|||
Conditions | Once
the stage has ended, the remaining boss counter is multiplied with your
remaining lifes. You can see this in the fast scrolling text line then.
Below that, the number and value and of all collected boxes
is listed. I believe the end of stage math works as follows:
There is also a calculation with the remaining bombs, but the details have yet to be found out. |

BASIC
STRATEGY
|
||
Conditions | Don't
waste your energy by building up a box value at bigger enemies. Watch
out for small ones like tanks or small flying anythings instead. Finish
them with the normal shot, the way you receive a 5er and take the bigger
boogy with the lock-shot right after. Even while fighting the mid-bosses,
there are a few tanks here and there you can use as "counter-makers". Sometimes you meet more than one bigger enemies, like the pair of gun turrets installed in that building in stage one for example. To take both with the maximum of 5er boxes, weaken one of them until it blinks. Then head to the second one, take it out with a normal shot to receive the 5er. Now you can finish the one you wounded before easily with the lock gunner before the counter runs out. |
