(Psikyo 1997)

While early Psikyo PCBs used specific Roms for each language region, later board have stored all versions in the same Eprom. To change the language, you have to find a hidden jumper. On all PS3V1 type Psikyo PCBs, this is jumper JP5. It consists of a row of 4 metallic spots and is mounted on the surface.

example:
If your PCB is set to japanese language (default), all connections should be intact. To change the region to world, cut the connection of the 2nd jumper (see picture) with a small knife. You can also use a small screwdriver to scratch a gap between the two semicircles. It's really easy; just keep care not to slip off. To set the jumper back to it's original position, close it with a drop of solder. If you plan to switch often between the different language settings, you should solder a DIP switch onto the jumper.
