While
early Psikyo PCBs used specific Roms for each language region, later
board have stored all versions in the same Eprom. To change the language,
you have to find a hidden jumper. On all PS5V2 type Psikyo
PCBs, this is jumper JP3. It consists of a row of 4 metallic
spots and is mounted on the surface, close to the JAMMA connector.
example: If your PCB is set to japanese language (default), all connections should be intact. To change the region to 'International Version A' (english language), cut the connection of the 4th jumper (see picture) with a small knife. You can also use a small screwdriver to scratch a gap between the two semicircles. It's really easy; just keep care not to slip of. To set the jumper back to it's original position, close it a drop of solder. If you plan to switch often between the different language settings, you should solder a DIP switch onto the jumper. |
